Hourly base pay rate is $21.49 - $32.26/hour. The hourly base rate may vary within the anticipated range based on factors such as the ultimate location of the position and the selected candidate’s knowledge, skills, and abilities. Position may be eligible for additional compensation that may include commission (annual, monthly, etc.) and/or an incentive program.

Job Description


Responsible for performing advanced machining tasks to support production and engineering operations. This role involves preparing raw materials, interpreting technical drawings, and operating CNC equipment with precision. The technician will use CAM software to program and optimize cutting paths, select appropriate tooling, and ensure parts meet strict quality standards. Additional responsibilities include maintaining equipment, assisting with assembly, and contributing to continuous improvement efforts. Attention to detail, mechanical aptitude, and the ability to work within close tolerances are essential for success in this role.

Primary Duties/Key Responsibilities

Clean, cut, and prepare raw materials for machining.Read and interpret drawings, blueprints, and engineering documentation to ensure product conformance.Set up and operate CNC lathes and mills.Select appropriate tools, inserts, and cutters for machining tasks.Work within close tolerances to meet precision standards.Use CAM software to program, edit, and model cutting paths.Evaluate machining procedures and recommend improvements for efficiency and output.Use calipers, micrometers, and gauges to measure, examine, and test completed parts to ensure quality and design specifications are met.Operate bandsaws, CNC plasma cutters, grinders, and other power tools.Assist in assembling parts and hardware as needed.Maintain a clean, organized, and safe workspace.Perform routine maintenance on machine shop equipment.Demonstrate excellent attention to detail in all tasks.Perform other job-related duties as assigned by management.

Minimum Qualifications:

High School Diploma/GED and 3 years’ experience in a related field. The right candidate could also have a different combination, such as any level degree/certification beyond a HS diploma/GED in a related discipline; or 5 years’ experience in a related fieldRequires strong knowledge of proficiently using calipers, micrometers, dial indicators, and gauges as well as hand tools.  The ability to read blueprints and engineering drawings, as well as the ability to program, set-up, and operate CNC equipment, 3D printers, and manual machines. Excellent problem solving, troubleshooting, attention to detail, and collaborative communication skills to work effectively with teams throughout organization. Must be a current EVBS Cox Contractor

Preferred Qualifications:

Certification in CNC MachiningExperience in a manufacturing environment in the automotive industry is preferred.

Work Environment:

Manufacturing environment including the potential for hazards of moving machinery

Physical Requirements:

Individual lifting to 50 pounds.Regularly required to stand, stoop, move equipment; bend, reach, or lift for prolonged periods of time.Standard PPE includes safety glasses, safety vest, hearing protection, and safety footwear.
