Job Description: **Job Overview** As a **Machine Shop Quality Inspector** , you will play a key role in ensuring components meet exact specifications while supporting the day-to-day running of the Machine Shop to achieve departmental KPIs. You’ll balance quality control with cost-effectiveness, ensure correct measuring equipment and programs are used, and collaborate with the Standards Room to drive improvements in processes, standards, and safety. **Job Requirements** + Support daily operations of the Machine Shop to meet KPIs. + Complete internal **DQIP** and **FAI** reports accurately and on time. + Conduct roaming inspections to verify component compliance. + Assist in product failure investigations, providing measurement data. + Program, operate, and optimize contact and non-contact measuring equipment. + Identify best practices for measuring components. + Prepare inspection reports and interpret results. + Maintain quality documentation in a neat and methodical manner. + Carry out inspections in line with company procedures and **BS308 drawings** . + Ensure compliance with Health & Safety regulations and company standards. + Liaise with other departments and support the Quality Supervisor as required. **What your background should look like** **Education:** + Good general education to GCSE level. + Mechanical Engineering or similar technical qualification preferred. **Experience:** + Proficient in using computer systems. + Skilled in mechanical measurement techniques. + Experience operating and programming contact and non-contact measuring equipment. + Previous experience in a technical, engineering, or manufacturing role preferred. + Strong communication, collaboration, and team-working skills. + Ability to think strategically while managing day-to-day demands. **Essential Knowledge & Skills:** + Familiarity with mechanical measurement techniques. + Ability to read and interpret **BS308 drawings** and dimensional requirements. + Excellent communication, negotiation, and influencing skills. + Strong reliability and accuracy under pressure. **Competencies** Values: Integrity, Accountability, Inclusion, Innovation, Teamwork **Job Locations:** HASTINGS, TN38 9RF United Kingdom Posting City: HASTINGS Job Country: Great Britain Travel Required: Less than 10% Requisition ID: 146015 Workplace Type: External Careers Page: Quality TE Connectivity and its subsidiaries, affiliates, and operating units (collectively, the "Company") is committed to providing a work environment that prohibits discrimination on the basis of age, color, disability, ethnicity, marital status, national origin, race, religion, gender, gender identity, sexual orientation, protected veteran status, disability or any other characteristics protected by applicable law or regulation.
