Machine Repair Mechanic – 3rd Shift

Location: South Milwaukee, WI

Shift: 3rd Shift (Full-Time)

Bonus: $2,000 Sign-On & Retention Bonus

About Caterpillar South Milwaukee

Caterpillar is hiring experienced Machine Repair Mechanics with troubleshooting and repairing experience, that can maintain complex domestic and foreign machine tools and industrial equipment, to join our manufacturing team in South Milwaukee, WI.

At our South Milwaukee facility, you’ll be part of a team that builds some of the largest and most powerful mining machines in the world. This facility specializes in the production of Cat® Electric Rope Shovels (ERS) used in mining operations around the world.

Key Responsibilities

Diagnose and repair a wide range of machine tools including Liebherr, DMG, Pietro Carnaghi, Ingersoll, Innse, Pama, and othersMaintain and repair cranes, hoists, conveyors, furnaces, welding equipment, and other industrial assetsInstall and service hydraulic and pneumatic systems, ball screws, precision bearings, and controllersPerform machine leveling, shaft alignment, lubrication, tube bending, and weldingRead and interpret mechanical prints and hydraulic schematicsApply scraping principles and precision alignment techniques

Required Qualifications

Minimum 3 years of industrial machine tool maintenance experience or completion of a relevant technical programProficiency in troubleshooting and repairing complex machine toolsAbility to read and interpret mechanical and hydraulic documentationDemonstrated proficiency in machine tool theory and applicationOne of the following:Journeyman Machine Repair/Millwright certificationAssociate degree in a mechanical fieldUnion Journeyman card5+ years of machine repair experienceEquivalent military training

Preferred Qualifications

Experience with preventive and predictive maintenance technologiesSkills in metal fabrication and precision laser alignmentFamiliarity with ball screw and spindle repairStrong communication and customer service skillsCommitment to safety and teamwork

Summary Pay Range:

$29.02 - $36.27
