Job Summary:
To grind a wide variety of production aircraft parts using CNC machinery. May be required to work
with higher grade Machinists while in training.
Job Responsibilities:
• Setup, adjust and operate CNC grinding machines to perform a wide variety of difficult
close tolerance internal and/or external single and multiple grinding operations according
to general operation methods.
• Works from blueprints, shop routers, oral and written instructions to achieve high degree
surface finish and tolerance requirements for grinding parts.
• Mount and balance grinding wheel.
o Dress grinding wheel manually and automatically.
• Setup and adjust horizontal feeds, speed of part rotation, wheel speed and table travel stops.
o Selects drive dogs, collets and chucks.
o Mounts parts to proper index as required. Adjusts lubricating coolant flow.
• Responsible only for own work.
• Performs other related duties as required.

Education:
Must have a high school diploma, an equivalent certificate, or a bronze level WorkKeys certification
AND a vocational certificate / diploma related to CNC machining.
Experience:
No experience required but must possess the vocational certificate/diploma outlined in education.
Working Conditions:
Typical machine shop working conditions with occasional exposure to cutting oils and grindings
