Job details We are looking for dedicated Machine Operators with great mechanical aptitude for our manufacturing client in Durham, NC. The Machine Operator will operat slitter machinery to shear and slit continuous paper rolls to meet customer needs, providing quality, consistent work. Responsibilities:
Operate slitter according to production, waste, and quality standards.
Keep updated and thorough production reports.
Maintain the process and take note of malfunctions in the equipment and product, correcting them as needed.
Ensure safety during all production processes.
Properly document, set up and handle the raw materials in preparation for the process.
Document, separate, label and handle any process waste, recyclables, and product after the process.
Prepare, place and remove paper rolls as necessary for the process.
Verify that production quantity meets customer needs.
Operate / Monitor Overwrap Equipment during operation to ensure quality production and minimal unplanned stops .
Adjust machines as needed for changeovers, different functions or other varying needs of production Conduct quality checks periodically.
Read the job jacket to ensure correct product is used.
Observe and monitor input/output, accuracy and efficiency of machine.
Check the expansion symbol to ensure the form is for the correct project.
Ensure product counts are accurate.
Keep a daily activity log of production notes (including totals, defects etc).
Ensure a clean, neat, and orderly work area.
Other duties as may be assigned by supervisor.

Working hours: 7:00 PM - 7:00 AM

Skills:
Ability to stand and perform the requirements of the position for extended periods of time.
Ability to handle and interpret measurements.
Ability to read and follow written work instructions on job jackets.
Ablility to read and understand product labeling.
Must be able to work in a team environment.
Willingness to abide by all plant practices and procedures.
Overtime is an expected requirement.
Ability to maintain great attendance and tardy record.

Education:
High School

Experience:
1-4 years

Qualifications:
1+ years of experience in a manufacturing environment.
Mechanical aptitude.
Ability to perform simple mathematical calculations including addition, subtraction, and multiplication.
