Machine Operator/ Saw Operator
**Job Title: Machine Saw Operator** **Job Description** We are seeking a skilled Machine Saw Operator with a strong background in handling metal materials to fulfill customer orders. The ideal candidate will ensure equipment is maintained in a safe condition and the processing area is kept orderly. Responsibilities include precise material processing according to work order specifications and accurate information entry. This role requires working in a fast-paced environment and handling additional assigned tasks. **Responsibilities** + Apply metal to customer orders and process material according to work order specifications. + Maintain processing equipment in a safe and clean condition. + Operate cranes, forklifts, and other material handling equipment. + Inspect and verify products before processing. + Set up equipment properly and safely to meet specified setup notes. + Perform equipment preventive maintenance. + Accurately enter and delete material identification tags as per instructions. + Communicate with sales representatives regarding order changes or clarifications. + Assist in the packaging of material as per work instructions. + Maintain measurement equipment in working condition. + Operate the weighing scale and record inspection measurements. + Identify and segregate scrap and non-conforming materials. + Provide feedback on machine efficiency and product quality. + Train others when required and assist in lean and quality activities. **Essential Skills** + High school diploma or GED. + Ability to read, write, and perform basic math skills. + Ability to lift and carry up to 40 lbs. + Certified in material handling and proficient in forklift operation. + 2+ years of saw operation experience in a manufacturing or warehouse environment. + Experience with inventory control and blueprint reading. **Additional Skills & Qualifications** + Previous warehouse experience, especially in the metals industry. + Experience with measuring tools and computer literacy. + Experience with various saws such as waterjet, bandsaw, and drill press. + 3+ years of warehouse experience in a manufacturing or distribution environment. **Why Work Here?** Join a dynamic and fast-paced work environment where your expertise in saw operation and material handling will be highly valued. The work environment is fast-paced, necessitating attention to detail and the ability to work efficiently under pressure. **Job Type & Location** This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Wichita, KS. **Pay and Benefits** The pay range for this position is $21.20 - $22.20/hr.
