Job Title: Machine Operator Assistant
Job Description
Join our team as a Machine Operator Assistant where you will play a pivotal role in the operation of our production lines. You will assist with bundling steel, maintain cleanliness around the working area, and support machine operators by managing the setup and changeover of machinery. This role is crucial in ensuring the efficiency and quality of our production processes.
Responsibilities
Assist Machine Operator in the setup and changeover of machines, including removal and replacement of tooling rolls and dies.Bundle and safely stack products onto company-standard pallets.Apply necessary packaging requirements, including labeling and securing pallets with metal strapping.Operate a Jib crane safely to maneuver slit coils onto machine uncoilers.Utilize tape measures for quality control, ensuring accurate measurements of products and materials.Maintain cleanliness by following the Helper Housekeeping procedure at the end of each shift.Remove punch out bins and manage scrap effectively throughout the day.Safely operate wood and metal saws for cutting materials to custom lengths.Assist with inline welding processes, ensuring proper alignment and quality.Participate in basic daily maintenance of machines, including oiling, greasing, and cleaning.Assist with acquiring production supplies, ensuring they are readily available and efficiently used.Essential Skills
At least 1 year of experience operating machinery within an industrial or manufacturing environment.Ability to read and understand safety practices within the CEMCO general safety rules manual.Knowledge of basic visual and measurable quality control standards.Additional Skills & Qualifications
Bilingual abilities strongly preferred, especially Spanish.High School Diploma or GED.Ability to stand for the entire shift and lift up to 40 lbs.Willingness to work 1-2 hours of overtime per day and potentially on Saturdays if hired permanently.Strong initiative and ability to perform basic arithmetic.Why Work Here?

Work Environment

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $20.67 - $20.67/hr.
