Machine Operator

As a Machine Operator, you will be responsible for loading coils of steel into the mill, where they are shaped into tubes through a series of tooling. The process includes welding, expanding, and contracting the tubes to ensure durability, followed by cutting with a saw and deburring using compressed air. Your role will also involve quality control using various measuring tools. After 2-4 months, you will receive training to become an operator.

Responsibilities

Operate machinery to shape steel coils into tubes.Perform welding, expanding, and contracting on tubes.Cut and deburr tubes using saws and compressed air.Conduct quality control checks using measuring tools.Lift up to 50lbs as part of the physically demanding work.Receive training to become a machine operator after initial acclimation.

Essential Skills

3+ years of manufacturing experience, ideally as a machine operator.Experience with quality checks and measuring tools such as calipers and micrometers.Ability to lift up to 50lbs repeatedly.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

Experience in the automotive or metal industry.Experience with deburring, assembly, machine setup, and troubleshooting.Consistent work history with a minimum of one year at each job.

Work Environment

The work environment is centered around automotive manufacturing, specifically stainless steel tubing for various automotive components. You will work in teams of 3-5 in a social setting, ensuring collaboration and support. The role demands constant interaction with at least one other team member.
