What Matters Most:Competitive Pay: $35/hr – $38/hr, recognizing your expertise in mechanical drafting.Contract Role: 6+ month assignment with potential for extension.Onsite Position: Located in Simsbury, CT, collaborate directly with engineers and manufacturing teams.Job Description:We are seeking a Machine/Equipment Drafter to support engineering teams in creating detailed 2D drawings and documentation from engineers’ solid models. This role focuses on documenting complex production manufacturing machinery and ensuring accuracy for production use. The ideal candidate will bring strong mechanical drafting skills, proficiency with 3D solid modeling software, and a detail-oriented approach to supporting manufacturing operations.
Key Responsibilities:Create detailed 2D drawings from 3D solid models provided by engineers.Draft and document complex machinery and equipment for use in production manufacturing.Ensure drawings are accurate, clear, and compliant with drafting standards.Collaborate with engineers and shop floor teams to support production and installation.Maintain and update technical documentation as needed.Qualifications:Associate degree or CAD Technical certification in Design/Drafting or related field.3+ years of experience in mechanical drafting.Proficiency in 3D solid modeling software (PTC CREO preferred; SolidWorks, Autodesk Inventor, or similar also acceptable).Strong understanding of mechanical drafting standards.Familiarity with automated process control in manufacturing operations is a plus.Excellent attention to detail and ability to deliver within deadlines.
