Job Description

Work a job that fits your lifestyle! Enjoy a 12 hour shift on a 2-2-3 Night Shift schedule with three day weekends every other weekend! Starting at $22.58/hour plus $1.20 night shift premium. With this schedule, you work half the month, which means half the year. Shift schedules provided for the entire year!

ROLE OVERVIEW

Amcor is currently seeking enthusiastic, accountable employees for these Machine Assistant positions!  At Amcor, Safety is our number one priority.  All employees act as safety leaders in all responsibilities.  Employees support our World Class Operations by engaging in team activities and continuously improving the business. 

While working in the Extrusion or Rewind department you will be given an opportunity to develop your skills through our training programs.  You start as an Assistant to learn the basics, and you will have various opportunities to cross-train and develop new skill sets for a successful career at Amcor.

WHAT YOU GET TO DO AS AN EXTRUSION ASSISTANT:

Read job specifications to determine cores, primers, and other supplies needed by the operator for each product producedAssist machine operator in setting up the machine, cleanups/startups, and shutdownsLoad and remove rolls of stock material onto the unwind of the extrusion coater/laminator by using an overhead hoist systemPrepare material to be properly stored and accurately returned to inventory using lift trucksBackup to Operator : act as backup operator when operator is away from the machine during breaks, meetings, and other times as neededAssist on machine maintenance and other plant cleaning as neededOther duties as assigned

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS FOR MACHINE ASSISTANTS:

Ability to lift up to 30 - 50 lbsWilling and able to stand and walk for 12 hour shiftFrequent reaching, bending, stooping, kneeling, and twistingFrequent use of wrist and handsFrequent stepping up and down from platformsReasonable accommodations will be considered on a case by case basis

Previous manufacturing experience a plus, not requiredPrevious experience in extrusion, lamination, coating, and/or rewind a plus, not requiredKnowledgeable and able to understand a computer and programsPossess adequate math, measurement, and reading skillsExcellent verbal and written communication skillsGood organizational and interpersonal skillsRequired to have visual acuity to perform visual inspection including the use of measurement devices and ability to identify and distinguish colorsAbility to interact effectively and professionally with others in a team environment
