The Saint Alphonsus Karcher clinic is now hiring for a PRN Medical Assistant to work in their Urgent Care POD! **Position Summary & Highlights** + This position will work in the Urgent Care clinics at our Karcher (Nampa), South Nampa, and Star clinic locations as needed (see scheduling information below). + You will also have the opportunity to pick up additional shifts with other Urgent Care locations in the Treasure Valley when available. + This position will work with a variety of providers and other MAs and RNs in a fast-paced environment. **What You Will Do** **:** + In addition to primary MA duties, you will also perform phlebotomy, administer immunizations, and prep injections. + You will assist with minor procedures, complete POC and other tests, and also complete tasks and orders in the task inbox. ​ + An ideal candidate will enjoy working in a fast-paced environment, is adaptable and dependable. + You also like working in a strong team environment, have effective communication skills, and have solid critical thinking skills. **Work Schedule** **:** + This position will ideally work 3 shifts per month, when available. May include advanced scheduling or reaching out for sick calls. + We are looking for availability Monday – Sunday, available for at least two to three days per week. + You will work 12 hour shifts, primarily 8:00am – 8:00pm, but some clinic locations work 7am – 7pm or 11am-11pm. **Orientation and Training** **:** + Will be at least 2-3 full days each week in the first two weeks, plus self-paced e-learning. + Includes EPIC Training, Quality Orientation, POC test training, and immunization training. **Locations** **:** + Karcher Urgent Care: 11035 Karcher Rd., Nampa, ID 83651 + South Nampa Urgent Care: 215 E Hawaii AveSte 170, Nampa,ID83686 + Star Urgent Care: 10717 W State St., Star, ID 83669 **Learn more about our Urgent Care Services** **:** https://www.saintalphonsus.org/specialty/urgent-care **Minimum Requirements:** + High School Diploma or equivalent required at hire. + New Graduates: 1) MA certificate of completion required from an accredited program or school. 2) Completion of either a 100-hour MA externship or 6 months MA experience in lieu of the externship hours even with MA certification. + Medical Assistant with Experience: 1 Year of MA experience OR Current MA Certification OR obtain or renew certification within 90 days from hire from approved credentialing agencies listed below. + MA certification required within 90 days of hire from one of the following Saint Alphonsus approved agencies: + American Association of Medical Assistants (CMA) + American Medical Technologists (RMA) + National Healthcareer Association (CCMA) + National Center for Competency Testing (NCMA) + National Association of Health Professionals (NRCMA) + American Medical Certification Association (CMAC) + National Phlebotomy Certification Examination (NPCE MA) + Basic Life Support for Healthcare providers certification from either AHA, ARC or the Military Training Network is required at hire. + *EMT and CNA certifications will not count towards an MA certification. Obtaining the MA certification typically requires completing an MA Program or working as a Medical Assistant for at least 1 year.
