We are seeking an experienced and proactive Mechanical & Electrical Project Manager to oversee the successful delivery of diverse construction and refurbishment projects. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in managing Mechanical and or Electrical construction activities, coordinating stakeholders, and ensuring compliance with contractual, financial, and safety requirements. This role requires excellent organisational and leadership skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously from inception to completion.
Main Duties
• Lead the planning, coordination, and execution of construction projects, ensuring they are delivered on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards.
• Develop and manage detailed project programmes, work schedules, and budgets.
• Oversee the preparation of scopes of work, tender documents, and contract administration for construction projects.
• Coordinate and manage contractors, architects, engineers, and consultants, ensuring effective collaboration throughout the project lifecycle.
• Monitor project progress and performance, providing accurate reports, updates, and recommendations to senior management and clients.
• Ensure compliance with construction regulations, health and safety legislation, and industry best practices at all stages of project delivery.
• Conduct site inspections to monitor quality, identify risks, and resolve issues promptly.
Produce detailed scope of works and or drawings using CAD.
• Manage procurement activities, including materials, subcontractors, and specialist services.
• Provide advice on sustainability, energy efficiency, and cost-effective construction solutions.
• Maintain strong relationships with stakeholders, including clients, end users, and internal teams, to achieve project objectives.
• Lead risk management activities, identifying and mitigating potential issues before they impact project outcomes.
• Drive continuous improvement across project delivery and contribute to the development of business processes and standards.
What we are looking for• Proven experience as a Mechanical & Electrical Project Manager delivering projects across commercial, residential, or public sector environments.
• Strong knowledge of construction practices, regulations, and contract management.
• Experience in building services, mechanical, or electrical systems (HVAC, lighting, power, etc.) Essential
• Excellent leadership and team management skills, with the ability to motivate and coordinate multidisciplinary teams.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with confidence in dealing with clients, contractors, and stakeholders.
• Strong attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
• Proficiency in project management software, Microsoft Office, and reporting tools.
• Degree in Construction Management, Building Services / Engineering
• Professional membership (e.g., CIOB, RICS, APM, CIBSE) or working towards (essential)
• Familiarity with MOD estates and JSP requirements (desirable).
• Commitment to upholding health, safety, quality, and sustainability standards in all projects.
• Experience in designing and producing scope of works with the knowledge to thoroughly review technical drawings.
