Lumber Yard Manager Details:

Direct Hire position$80,000.00 to $100,000.00 /annuallyFirst ShiftProvide clear and effective communication with employees, management, and customers.Partner with the Operations Manager to ensure appropriate staffing levels in the yard.Collaborate with the sales team to resolve order issues and maintain customer satisfaction.Schedule and coordinate daily production and deliveries to ensure accuracy and timeliness.Monitor and track inventory status, supply usage, costs, and trends to maintain established levels.Submit stock inventory requests to the Inventory Manager as needed.Oversee employee relations in coordination with Human Resources, including performance management, counseling, and disciplinary actions.Serve as the designated Safety Leader for the yard, conducting compliance training and ensuring adherence to all safety policiesMaintain safe and organized yard operations, ensuring equipment and facilities meet company safety standards.Demonstrate initiative by taking on additional responsibilities and challenges as required.Minimal travel may be required.

Lumber Yard Manager Qualifications:

Previous supervisory experience in a warehouse, yard, or building materials environment preferred.Strong knowledge of safety practices and regulatory compliance (OSHA, DOT, FMCSA).Proven ability to lead and motivate teams while fostering a safe and productive work environment.Excellent organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.Ability to manage multiple priorities and adapt to changing demands.Proficiency in inventory tracking and reporting systems a plus.
