The 5th Floor General Medicine/Geriatric Medicine Unit supports adults and geriatric patients receiving medical, neurological and telemetry attention. As an LPN on this team, you will assist nurses and healthcare staff in ensuring patients have the best possible experience throughout treatment. You will gain hands-on experience with various health issues, including cardiac diseases, diabetes, wounds and other chronic conditions. You can also benefit from the extensive educational and professional development resources offered to caregivers by Cleveland Clinic, including tuition reimbursement for Nursing School. **A caregiver in this position works nights from 7:00PM - 7:30AM, with every other holiday and weekend requirements.** A caregiver who excels in this role will: + Collect, document and report patient data and observations. + Implement care plans as directed by an RN and contribute to care plan revisions. + Administer medications and/or treatments authorized by a provider and observe patients for adverse reactions. + Perform routine laboratory tests. + Educate patients and family members. Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include: + Graduate of an accredited Practical or Vocational Nursing Program + Current Ohio licensure as a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) + Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include: + One year of patient care experience Our caregivers continue to create the best outcomes for our patients across each of our facilities.
