Come join our Behavioral Health team as a Behavioral Health Technician(BHT) or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) utilizing a team-based approach to patient care in a fun and supportive work environment.

Varied 12-hour day or night shifts and every third weekend in a block schedule, with opportunities to pick up additional shifts based on scheduling needs. Differentials and premiums apply for nights, weekends, and call pay. Preceptor and charge nurse premiums are provided.
**Job Summary**
The LPN administers nursing care under the supervision of a registered nurse.
The Behavioral Health Tech contributes to the care and safety of psychiatric patients under the direction and control of the psychiatric staff and patient orders. The LPN participates in the implementation and evaluation of patient care. Ensures the health, comfort and safety of patients. Maintains certification as a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN).
Documents a thorough medical history from patient and performs or helps perform a physical exam to determine patient's needs. Discusses information collected from patient with registered nurse and administers medication or treatment as ordered. Consults with physician if necessary. Maintains stock of medical tools needed for registered nurse or physician.
May transport and prepare patients for examinations. Counsels patients and family members on prevention and treatment plan for health issues under direction of registered nurse.
The Behavioral Health Technician assists in leading groups, including groups for leisure or socialization, exercise, stress management and relaxation skills, daily living skill building, and art therapy. May provide assistance with basic health care needs including daily living activities that may include, but are not limited to, bathing, toileting, grooming, dressing/undressing, obtaining and recording vital signs, and providing psychosocial support and other personal care to assigned resident.
Assists the patient in transferring, repositioning, and walking using correct and appropriate transfer techniques and equipment. May completes tasks related to food preparation and dining, while creating a positive dining experience for the resident. Assists residents with meals and snacks, provides water and supplements as appropriate. May collect samples of blood and other fluids from patients after completing appropriate laboratory training.
Must have good human relations and communication skills. Must be able to follow procedures and instructions given by the licensed clinical staff. Must be able to acquire a basic knowledge of patient care principles, medical terminology and equipment within the assigned service area.
**Qualifications**
The LPN must have graduated from an accredited school or college of nursing program leading to licensure as a Licensed Practical Nurse. Associate's degree in practical nursing is preferred. Specific services/positions may have additional education, training or experience requirements.
Requires current licensure as a practical nurse in the state/states of practice.
The Behavioral Health Tech must have good human relations and communication skills. Must be able to follow procedures and instructions given by the licensed nurse. Must be able to acquire a basic knowledge of patient care principles, medical terminology and equipment within the assigned service area.
Whether working in Minnesota or North Dakota, certification is preferred. If working in North Dakota and not a Certified Nursing Assistant, must be registered as a Nurse Assistant through the North Dakota Department of Health within four months from the date of initial employment. Certification is required if designated by law (i.e. Home Care). If applicable to position, may require a valid class D driver's license and good driving record.
