Join Cleveland Clinic Children's School-Based Health Program as a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) stationed at John F. Kennedy High School, where you'll play a vital role in bringing high-quality care directly to students. Our School-Based Health Centers are nationally recognized for helping eliminate health disparities among children and adolescents by providing primary care, mental health support, health education, and more-right where students learn and grow. On our Mobile Unit, you'll provide services such as well-child checks, sports physicals, immunizations, acute care, contraception, and medication follow-ups for conditions like ADHD and asthma, serving patients ages 4-18. In this rewarding role, you'll work closely with a diverse pediatric population, make a lasting impact on their health and well-being, and grow your nursing skills with the support and educational resources of the Cleveland Clinic system.
**A caregiver in this position will work Monday through Friday from 7:30am to 5:00pm. When school is closed at JFK, caregivers will be floated to other locations within eastern Cuyahoga County.**
A caregiver who excels in this role will:
+ Collect, document and report patient data and observations.
+ Implement care plans as directed by an RN and contribute to care plan revisions.
+ Administer medications and/or treatments authorized by a provider and observe patients for adverse reactions.
+ Perform routine laboratory tests.
+ Educate patients and family members.
Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:
+ Graduate of an approved school of practical nursing
+ Current Ohio licensure as a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN)
+ Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross
Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:
+ One year of patient care experience
+ Prior pediatric experience

**Physical Requirements:**
+ Requires full body motion to move and lift patients, manual finger dexterity with good hand-eye coordination, involves extensive standing walking and occasional lifting.
+ Requires corrected vision and hearing to normal range.
+ Requires working under stressful conditions or working irregular hours.
+ Requires some exposure to communicable diseases or body fluids.
+ Medium Work - Exerting 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
+ Physical Demand requirements are in excess of those for Light Work.
**Personal Protective Equipment:**
+ Follows standard precautions using personal protective equipment as required.
