The Ob/Gyn Unit at Beachwood Family Health and Surgery Center offers specialized care for women, including comprehensive prenatal care, preventative health screenings and general gynecology. As an LPN on this team, your work will be primarily hands-on, with an expectation to assist with numerous procedures. Some of your patients may experience infertility, gynecologic cancer and other sensitive conditions, so compassion and empathy are critical. In this position, you can make a lasting and meaningful difference in the lives of your patients and their families.
**A caregiver in this position works from variable hours 7:00AM-4:30PM. Additionally, an occasional late clinic until 8:00PM and a Saturday clinic rotation.**
A caregiver who excels in this role will:
+ Provide patient care activities under the direction of an RN, Physician, Optometrist and/or Podiatrist.
+ Collect and document objective/subjective data and observations about patients.
+ Complete nursing assessments and report all data.
+ Implement the current nursing care plan, medication or treatment and communicate patients' responses.
+ Observe patients for adverse reactions to medications or treatments.
+ Perform routine laboratory tests.
+ Educate patients and family members.
+ Participate in the departmental orientation of new employees, share knowledge and provide guidance when assigned.
Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:
+ Graduate of an approved school of Practical Nursing
+ Current Ohio license as a Licensed Practice Nurse (LPN)
+ Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA)
Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:
+ One year of patient care experience

**Physical Requirements:**
+ Full body motion to move and lift patients, manual finger dexterity and good hand-eye coordination
+ Extensive standing, walking and occasional lifting
+ Corrected vision and hearing to normal range
+ Working under stressful conditions or working irregular hours
+ Some exposure to communicable diseases or body fluids
+ Medium Work, exerting 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects
+ Physical Demand requirements in excess of those for Light Work
**Personal Protective Equipment:**
+ Follow standard precautions using personal protective equipment as required
