Job Summary and Responsibilities

As a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN), you will provide compassionate nursing care to our residents, under the direction of a physician or Registered Nurse.

Every day, you will assess resident needs and deliver essential physical or psychosocial care.

To be successful in this role, you will exhibit genuine compassion for patient well-being, an understanding of your critical role in ensuring their comfort, and the patience to explain procedures, answer questions, and maintain accurate documentation.

What you'll do...

Performs patient care responsibilities considering the needs specific to the standard of care for patient’s age.Sets up scrubs and prepares for procedures prior to scheduled time, as directed by the RN circulating nurse.Always maintain an orderly and sterile instrument table for the purpose of efficiency; follows Operating Room standard set up.Ability, under direct supervision of an R.N., to perform a head-to-toe assessment on all patients and reassessments as per policy. This includes pediatric, geriatric and the general patient population.Knowledge of medications and their correct administration based on age of the patient and patient’s clinical condition.Anticipates the needs of surgeon during intra-operative phase.

Job Requirements

Required

Graduate of a state approved school of nursing.Licensed Practical Nurse in the state of North Dakota.Basic Life Support (BLS) issued by the American Heart Association. Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS).Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) within 6 months of start date.

CHI Oakes Hospital, is a 20-bed critical access hospital that provides various inpatient and outpatient services to approximately 14,000 people in southeastern North Dakota. It is also a 24-Hour Emergency Level V Trauma Center. The hospital building was newly-constructed in 2007, replacing a 50-year old building, and in 2010, Oakes Community Clinic was opened within the hospital building. The hospital is part of a larger values-based organization, CommonSpirit Health.
