Programs include inpatient interventions, jail based evaluations, supervised group home and residential programs, forensic evaluation, care, custody, and aftercare; intermediate and long term psychiatric are in coordination with the total system of care in Louisiana Minimum Qualifications Possession of a current Louisiana Practical Nurse license, a temporary permit, or a multi-state license issued by a Nursing Licensure Compact (NLC/eNLC) state plus two years of experience as a licensed practical nurse. Job Duties and Other Information Job Duties: In this role, you will: + Serves as primary provider of patient care in Secure Forensic Facility. + Takes vital signs prior to medication administration, assesses patient behaviors, assesses and documents effectiveness of patient medications/treatments and notifies RN of patient condition. + Accurately reconciles all medication from Pharmacy. + Maintains clean and well stocked medication room at all times. + Performs treatments and dressing changes per Physician order without difficulty. + Provides clinical supervision to paraprofessional and therapeutic staff as delegated by RNSA. + Plans and directs Nursing services at the Secure Forensics Facility in the absence of the RNSA. + Maintains timely completion of patient appointments and tests by subordinates as scheduled, and accurately documents in progress notes the completion and/or delays as appropriate + Conducts and participates in therapeutic groups and documents patient interactions. + Transcribes doctor’s orders timely and accurately. + Gives thorough report during hand-off and reports patient activities on unit, providing information on patient condition and unit/ward status. + Acts as Nurse Supervisor in the absences RNSA, e.g., including but not limited to, review and sign purchase orders, household supplies, office supplies, and outing requests. + Maintains current and unencumbered motor vehicle license.
