The Loss Mitigation Underwriting Manager will manage a team of Loss Mitigation Department Underwriters to achieve maximum performance in assisting CMS customers with available loss mitigation options. Responsible for oversight of support operations within the Loss Mitigation Department including monthly and quarterly audits, reporting, change management, compliance, quality assurance/quality control, and vendor/third party communication. Perform all duties in accordance with the company’s policies and procedures, all US state and federal laws and regulations, wherein the company operates. The target pay range for this position is 90,000 - 110,000 + Annual Bonus. Pay is based on job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and other relevant factors.
**What you'll do:**
+ Manage employees in such areas as workout technique, underwriting methodology, income calculations, net present value results, account recognition, and customer service.
+ Prepare reports and track results and trends within the Loss Mitigation Underwriting Department.
+ Oversee daily team operations; provide guidance and direction in daily workflow and volume.
+ Provide consistent communication to the team regarding daily work goals, expectations, and any policy and/or process changes.
+ Monitor employees on underwriting guidelines and job performance through periodic loan sampling, group training, and one on one interaction
+ Ensure that all procedures and training materials are defined and validated annually.
+ Manage and allocate employee resources effectively and provide leadership to staff including counseling, training and development, salary administration, selection and/or approval of selected personnel, and disciplinary action.
+ Keep abreast of best practices and new technologies, emerging trends, techniques and ideas.
+ Provide leadership, guidance, and assist the development of team members with their assignments.
+ Work collaboratively with business units and users to translate requirements into practical solutions.
+ Create and maintain processes, reports, and applications, per Servicing policies and procedures.
+ Responsible for the documentation of processes, reports, applications, and procedures as per department policy.
+ Prepare and present overview of the department to Senior Management, internal/external audit, and investors as needed.
+ Minimal travel supporting business operations may be required.
+ Perform other duties as assigned.
**What you'll need:**
+ High school diploma or equivalent required.
+ Bachelor’s degree preferred.
+ Five (5) or more years of loss mitigation underwriting experience required.
+ Three (3) or more years of supervisory or management experience.
+ Knowledge of HAMP, FHA, VA, and USDA underwriting guidelines required
+ Ability to travel up to 10%
