Title: Long-Term Substitute Teacher – Third Grade Start date: Late August Job Type: Temporary/Seasonal. No benefits will be offered. Daily Rate: $195 per day Reports to: Elementary Principal. Position Summary: Mariners Christian School seeks a highly qualified long-term elementary school substitute teachers. They are seen as a vital role in maintaining a positive, healthy, learning and teaching environment in which students can flourish. Teachers who have fidelity towards multi-tiered systems of support, small group differentiated instruction and workshop instructional framework are strongly encouraged to apply. Major Responsibilities: • Implement standards-based instruction using regular teacher’s lesson plans, as well as implement instructions developed during grade level planning meetings • Engage and support all students in learning • Create and maintain an effective environment for student learning • Understand and organize subject matter to lead students to content mastery • Provide learning experiences to meet the needs of all learners • Assess student learning and using data to inform instruction • Set high expectations of achievement for students that are attainable and measurable • Fully and effectively implement the use of educational technology through instruction, learning activities, and assessments • Collaborate with colleagues and administrators as an active, positive contributor and member of the Professional Learning Community • Fulfill all job duties and responsibilities as assigned by administration Additional Responsibilities and Characteristics: • Willingness to work in a collaborative environment • Ability to communicate clearly and effectively, verbally and in writing • Possess a positive attitude, flexible approach, and teachable spirit • Demonstrate an understanding of biblical worldview integration in the content area • Commitment to MCS core values including Exemplary Academics, Spiritual Formation, Whole C
Job Description / Essential Elements: PrintGeneral Description (Note: Elementary levels at MCS are K-5th)
The teacher is responsible for instructing students from a biblical worldview, while creating an academically rigorous classroom experience. The teacher will collaborate with a grade level team who strongly desires to grow students in their relationships with Jesus Christ. All subject areas will be taught in a loving and nurturing classroom environment, simultaneously fulfilling Mariners mission, vision, and core values. The teacher shall prayerfully help students learn attitudes, skills, and subject matter that will contribute to their development as mature, able, and responsible Christian men and women to the praise and glory of God.
