**Job Description**
**Core responsibilities**
The Logistics Specialist is responsible to ensuring all operational processes (existing day-to-day activities, non-standard situations and new processes) comply with all regulations necessary in order to, achieve the highest customer satisfaction and delivery reliability and as cost-efficient as possible. The emphasis in this role is to carry out a continuous improvement mindset in operational activities, write documentation (SOPs WI, reports), provide training, support, and expertise to the Team, perform data-analysis (volume, quality, cost, etc.), facilitate and lead business review meetings with the partners, create and monitor KPIs. While doing so think in a “Work Smarter, Not Harder” mindset, thinks of ways on how to approach these most efficient possibly using automation. In addition, support the logistics department with the daily planning and coordination of transports. You work together with project managers, logistics coordinators, SAP key users, external logistic partners, and specialists in the field of regulations (ADR/IATA/GDP/etc.). The role reports to the Logistics Team Lead.
**Responsibilities**
+ Responsible for organizing and setting up the logistics processes as optimally as possible taking into consideration safety, quality, delivery reliability and cost efficiency.
+ Support operational team with process expertise (SAP key user))
+ Creating and updating work instructions, procedures that meet GDP standards.
+ Creating quality reports (QMR, Carrier reviews)
+ Investigating and following up on complaints and transportation incidents according to quality requirements and transport’s regulations (TW Deviations, Investigations and CAPA)
+ Support financial audits (POD report)
+ Perform data-analysis (volume, quality, cost, etc.)
+ Creating and updating financial reports, forecasts and KPIs. Investigating and explaining differences in the costs compared to the forecasts.
+ Create, monitor KPIs, overviews
+ SAP key-user
+ Representing department on business meetings with partners
+ Initiating and executing improvement or implementation projects aimed at the internal and external logistics processes, independently or through an active contribution to a project group.
+ Plan and coordinate transport to hospitals worldwide.
+ Liaise with Quality Assurance, Customer Service, Shipping and Production departments.
+ Fulfill a monitoring role when it comes to daily operations.
+ Put mechanisms in place necessary to monitor operations
+ Run and discuss the status of these monitoring KPI’s during the departmental Daily Management.
+ Monitor and drive compliancy of the department (Deviations, complaints, complex orders RU)
+ Understand the sensitivity and importance and being able to execute a Route Risk Assessment while taking into consideration all the aspects.
**Qualifications and Requirements**
+ Bachelor Degree or equivalent
+ Several years of experience in a complex logistics/ project management
+ Experience with air freight and with ADR/IATA/GDP is an advantage.
+ Experience with an ERP package (preferably SAP) and Microsoft Excel.
+ Fluent in English (Dutch not mandatory but preferred)
