Logistics Operations Controller

An exciting opportunity has arisen for you to join us as a Logistics Operations Controller within the Naval Defense organization based in Peterborough, ON.

In this role, you will be accountable for the day-to-day management of Logistics for the location, and your responsibilities will include the management of operational performance and physical logistics supporting the part movement, goods receipt, shipping and storage.  

Key Accountabilities:

Coordinate international shipments with service providers to make on time deliveries to customers.Coordinate with supply chain to ensure vendor shipments arrive within planned timelines.Manage and plan all Business Continuity / Risk Aspects for Logistics.Manage, maintain & develop the appropriate working relationships with the business functions and regulatory authorities.Participate in contractual discussions aimed at maintaining, improving or changing freight forwarder and customs broker relationships as required.Report and track all Government Furnished Equipment (GFE) and Customer Furnished Equipment (CFE) currently on site.Prepare all documentation for shipments, including Packing Lists, Commercial Invoices, Bills of Lading, Export Permits, B-13s and labels. Ensure that USMCA Certificates are current and compliant.Support internal and external audits.  Plan, prepare and manage any audit actions to close out within the agreed timescales.Update process documentation to reflect regulatory requirements.Support defined projects in line with project milestone plans.Other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Management, Business Administration, or a related field.Minimum 2 -3 years experience in logistics coordination, supply chain management, or related roles.Strong knowledge of logistic processes, regulations, and best practices.Proficiency in logistics ERP systems.Knowledge of inventory management systems and procedures.Understanding of international shipping and customs regulations.Excellent organizational and multi-taking abilities.

Compensation Package:

We offer a comprehensive compensation package including:

Salary:  $55,000 – $71,000 based on experience.Full benefits program inclusive of health, dental and disability coverage.DC pension program of 10% of base salary.Paid time off programs.Positive work culture and social programs.

This is a full-time on-site role.
