As a Logistics Manager at United Rentals, you will provide leadership, supervision and support to optimize equipment logistics, fleet allocation and resource utilization. You’ll ensure World-Class delivery and cost-efficient equipment logistics. Demonstrate leadership in customer and employee satisfaction/growth across the metro area. You will also implement all corporate and local logistics initiatives. You’ll lead a logistics team which includes dispatchers and drivers.

Additional duties include the following:

Manage logistics team day-to-day, provide leadership and supervision needed to consistently deliver World-Class service to internal and external customersMotivate, coach and train dispatchers and drivers to exceed customer commitments and expectations as well as to comply with standard logistical processesWhere applicable maintain productive labor relations with union steward and ensure compliance with labor agreement in forceResponsible for performance management of direct staff including all functional managersRecruit, hire, develop and retain top talent among diverse, skilled, college-educated (where applicable) candidatesPromote a culture of safety and discipline through leadership, exemplary personal compliance, accountability and communicationOwn and lead logistics execution throughout metro areaResponsible for proper staffing of drivers and dispatchers; develop and implement strategies to optimize staffing and deliver best-in-class serviceOther duties assigned as needed

Job Requirements:

High School Diploma required; Bachelor’s Degree preferred             Extensive logistics and leadership experience (10+ years)Excellent knowledge of all applicable federal/state and local regulations and experience with all required record keepingStrong knowledge of logistics accounting and P&L. Knowledge of Rental FlowProficient in most Microsoft applications and systems (Excel, Word, Outlook, RentalMan)Result oriented with ability to influence otherDemonstrated strengths in analysis, prioritizing and problem solvingPerformance management and coaching skillsReceptive to change – Change agentMust possess strong organizational and delegation skillsStrong leadership and communication skills
