Logistics Lead
Overview The Logistics Lead is responsible for overseeing and optimizing the end-to-end logistics operations, including inbound and outbound transportation, distribution, and 3PL/vendor management. The role ensures timely, cost-effective, and compliant movement of goods while driving continuous improvement in logistics processes. Responsibilities Transport & Distribution Management: Plan and manage daily transportation operations for raw materials and finished goods. Optimize routes, fleet utilization, and delivery schedules to reduce costs and improve service levels. Oversee the loading, dispatching, and delivery of products in accordance with customer requirements. Warehouse Coordination: Coordinate with warehouse teams to ensure accurate and timely order fulfillment. Monitor inventory levels and ensure proper storage and handling of materials. Vendor & 3PL Management: Manage logistics service providers (transporters, freight forwarders, couriers). Negotiate contracts and performance SLAs, ensuring adherence to service and cost expectations. Monitor performance and initiate corrective actions as needed. HSSE & Compliance: Ensure logistics operations adhere to company safety standards, local regulations, and environmental requirements. Lead incident reporting, investigation, and resolution for logistics-related issues. Cost Control & Reporting: Monitor logistics budget and identify opportunities for cost optimization. Maintain KPIs and dashboards to track performance (e.g., on-time delivery, freight cost per unit, damage rate). Prepare reports and present insights to leadership. Process Improvement & Projects: Lead or support logistics transformation/digitalization projects. Identify bottlenecks and implement lean logistics practices for efficiency gains. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Supply Chain, Logistics, Business Administration, or related field. 3–5 years of experience in logistics or transportation. Strong understanding of end-to-end supply chain and logistics processes. Familiarity with ERP systems (e.g., SAP) and transport management systems (TMS). Experience working with 3PLs and managing freight contracts.
