Job Description

Design, develop, validate, and implement methods and tools that improve the operational flexibility and execution of a lean production system using appropriate logistics concepts and BPS principles. Modify and improve existing logistics systems. Lead material team in the development and implementation of methods for material ordering, communication, transportation, packaging and distribution throughout the supply chain.

Responsibilities Include: (but are not limited to)

Develop and implement solutions that focus on reducing lead time throughout value streamActively use BPS principles and Lean Systems design to continuously improve value streamReduce cost by eliminating waste related to the supply chain and returnables managementDevelops standardized work in respective area for Material Flow Center (MFC) associatesDevelop, update, and maintain various Plan for Every Part worksheets (PFEPs)Facilitate and recommend departmental layouts that optimize material flow and support BPS conceptsForecast future space requirements by considering inventory policy, ramp-ups/ramp-downs, and equipment / operator utilizationActively pursue new systems, technologies, and the drive for a connected value stream (including but not limited to:  Autonomous Guided Vehicles (AGV), Radio Frequency Identification (RFID), and Intralogistics Execution Systems (IES)). Provide logistics support on cross-functional teams including Lean Line Designs (LLD)

QualificationsBS degree in Engineering3 to 5 years experience in logistics, manufacturing, or other related technical fieldPrevious experience with self -managed teamsEffective interpersonal skills and the ability to lead groups and delegate tasksMust be flexible (welcome and adaptable to change), including working hoursFollow-up effectively to insure successful implementationDemonstrate discipline and consistency regarding adherence to established standards, policies, and procedures
