The Logistics Coordinator is responsible for coordinating incoming and outgoing freight while ensuring shipments move safely, efficiently, and on schedule. This role requires excellent communication, negotiation, and organizational skills to manage carrier relationships, resolve transportation issues, and provide exceptional customer service. The Logistics Coordinator plays a critical role in supporting operations, maintaining accurate documentation, and contributing to the overall customer experience.
ResponsibilitiesSource and negotiate competitive transportation rates with carriers and service providers.Match carriers with freight based on equipment type, location, delivery timelines, and customer requirements.Coordinate and manage transportation of freight from origin through final delivery.Maintain regular communication with customers, carriers, and internal teams to ensure shipment visibility and service excellence.Track shipments and proactively address delays or service disruptions.Confirm shipper and receiver business hours, loading requirements, and delivery expectations.Collect and verify carrier information, including insurance and operating authority.Create carrier contracts, bills of lading, and shipment documentation.Schedule pickups and deliveries with customers, vendors, and carriers.Maintain accurate records, data entry, and shipment documentation.Support billing and invoicing processes as needed.Answer and direct incoming calls, emails, and messages to appropriate parties.Resolve transportation issues quickly and professionally while maintaining strong customer relationships.Cross-train to assist in multiple operational roles as needed.Follow all company policies, safety procedures, and operational standards.Perform other duties as assigned.Essential Skills1+ years of experience in logistics, transportation, or freight brokerage.Proficient in Microsoft Office.Analytical and problem-solving abilities with strong attention to detail.Ability to multitask, prioritize work, and adapt in a fast-paced environment.Additional Skills & QualificationsExperience with McLeod or TMS (Transportation Management System) is a plus.Team-oriented mindset with a commitment to professionalism and service.Work EnvironmentThis position is based in an office building in Hanover, PA. The role involves working Monday through Friday, with potential shift times of 6-2, 8-5, or 10-6. Currently, the shift is 8-5, but there are plans to implement multiple shifts, necessitating the hiring of additional staff.

Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $24.00 - $28.00/hr.
