Job Title: Logistics Coordinator
Job Description
As a Logistics Coordinator, you will support customers by providing safe and clean equipment for export shipments, managing container transportation to the load port as needed, and ensuring responsible management of costs. You will work closely with your lead, team members, and other departments to achieve team and company goals. The role involves email-based communication, focusing on individual negotiations for container redeliveries. The target is to off-hire approximately 40 exceptional containers per month, with a focus on older units, to incentivize leasing companies to take back containers in non-standard locations.
Responsibilities
Manage equipment costs through effective interactions with customer load sites, railroads, container storage facilities, trucking companies, and ocean terminals.Coordinate the selling of old containers (2012 and older).Build relationships with North American industry partners to enable strong negotiations and supplier management.Manage and maintain necessary container inventory levels, including forecasting incoming supply and demand up to six weeks in advance.Monitor and communicate export shipment status and proactively resolve anticipated service failures.Maintain strong communication channels with internal groups including Customer Service, Sales & Marketing, Accounting, Vessel Operations, and Pricing.Provide logistics service primarily via email for coordination of shipping containers both locally and internationally.Receive and process 100-400 emails per day, determining which are important and which are for reference.Essential Skills
Minimum of 3 years of experience in business or transportation (logistics, import/export, etc.).Proficiency in logistics, shipping, BOL, attention to detail, organization skills, high volume documentation, negotiation skills, ERP systems, financial analysis, and sales analysis.Interpersonal and teaming skills.Ability to independently work on projects and be self-motivated.Additional Skills & Qualifications
Bachelor's degree and interest in pursuing logistics/transportation.Driven to learn necessary skills for the role and quick problem-solving abilities.Proficiency in Excel for filtering and organizing data.Experience with Westlink ERP and occasional use of Phoenix.Interaction with leasing company websites (e.g., Triton, Textainer) is beneficial.Work Environment
The work environment is an office setting with around 60 people divided into 4-5 sections handling different portions of inbound and outbound freight. The working hours are Monday to Friday from 7am to 4pm, with a start time between 6am and 7am. There may be opportunities for overtime, with shifts lasting 9-10 hours. Training is conducted 100% onsite, and there is the potential for working remotely one day a week once you are up to speed.

The pay range for this position is $25.96 - $25.96/hr.
