Position Overview
Reporting to the site CAE Group Leader Technical Services and working in close collaboration with DND (prime customer), the Logistics Coordinator is the primary point of contact for all logistics related matter at CAE Gagetown site, providing support for the B412 Helicopter simulator.
Essential duties and responsibilities
+ Serve as the primary point of contact for material ordering, receiving, pick-up, local inventory control and disposal of stock and equipment.
+ Receive, handle and prepare items for shipment.
+ Process and prepare shipping documents.
+ Order materiel and supplies from internal and external sources.
+ Deliver materiel and supplies internally.
+ Perform record keeping, stocktaking and inventory control.
+ Process and coordinate repair and disposal functions.
+ Coordinate pick-ups and deliveries for miscellaneous shipments from DND carriers and commercial couriers.
+ Work with carriers to resolve any issues.
+ Determine requirements and secure multiple quotations for local purchase order action.
+ Maintain adequate control records for DND owned property. Records will be maintained and safeguarded from tampering or destruction.
+ Assure all materiel is stored and preserved as required to prevent loss, damage or deterioration.
+ Inspect property to ensure proper storage and protection techniques are implemented and utilized.
+ Other filing and administration duties as required
Our ideal candidate would have:
+ Minimum of 5 years’ experience as a logistics coordinator, shipper/receiver, stores person or equivalent discipline
+ General knowledge of the DND supply chain and relevant tools (DRMIS, CGCS, DND supply system).
+ Customer-centric with experience and success providing customer service
+ Must be able to handle sensitive situations with tact
+ Dynamic team player
+ Strong communication skills
+ General knowledge and skills in Microsoft Office Suite of Products (Word, Excel and PowerPoint)
+ Must be a self-starter and well-organized person who has the ability to multitask and focus on completing tasks
+ Must have the ability to work independently with minimal guidance to assure timelines and tasks are executed in a timely manner
+ Excellent knowledge of English (read, written and spoken).
