Logistics Clerk - Warehouse
Description We are looking for a detail-oriented Logistics Clerk to join our team on a Contract basis in La Mirada, California. In this role, you will support sales operations by managing warehouse logistics, including the movement, storage, and distribution of materials. This position requires excellent organizational skills and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment. Responsibilities: • Review production schedules, customer orders, and shipping requests to determine materials required for movement or distribution. • Transport items from receiving areas to storage or designated locations within the facility. • Organize and store materials on shelves, racks, or bins according to established systems, such as size or product code. • Handle perishable goods by storing them in refrigerated environments when necessary. • Process requisitions and distribute materials, tools, or stock items to production teams or assembly lines. • Assemble and prepare customer orders for shipping or transfer to the appropriate department. • Label materials and products with accurate identifying information. • Open and inspect incoming shipments, including bales, crates, or other containers. • Record inventory levels and document materials received or distributed using computer systems. • Operate vehicles to transport items between warehouse, plant, or other facilities as needed. Requirements • Proficiency in warehouse operations, including inventory management and stock organization. • Strong ability to read and interpret production schedules, work orders, and shipping documents. • Basic math skills, including proficiency in addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division. • Familiarity with using computers to enter and retrieve inventory records. • Ability to solve practical problems and interpret instructions presented in various forms, such as diagrams or schedules. • Physical capability to lift and move items weighing up to 25 pounds with assistance when required. • Effective communication skills, both verbal and written, to interact with team members and respond to inquiries. • Experience working in fast-paced logistics or warehouse environments is preferred.
