**_Job Description:_**
**Position Overview**
Supporting the Transportation functional team and internal and external customers, the **Transportation Analyst** serves as the process owner for service, volumetric, and project analytics related to the physical flow of products across the transportation network. Analytics include end-to-end costing alternatives, customer, carrier, and vendor performance measurement, and the production of comprehensive reporting and actionable insights. The role is responsible for delivered service across a complex and dynamic network and reports to the Manager or Director of Transportation Services.
**Key Responsibilities**
**Analytics**
+ Measure carrier, provider, vendor, and customer performance against defined service and cost targets.
+ Support business requirements gathering and evaluation for carrier and provider networks.
+ Conduct analytics to support contractual negotiations, transportation RFPs, and sourcing initiatives.
+ Leverage business data and analytics to drive efficiencies, optimization, and delivery solutions.
+ Analyze freight flow to identify cost-reduction and service-improvement opportunities by evaluating transportation costs, transit times, and delivery performance.
**Reporting**
+ Provide routine and ad hoc reporting and analytics to supported lines of business.
+ Produce executive- and management-level performance reports with strong attention to detail and quality.
+ Interpret and present key performance indicators (KPIs) and leading indicators.
+ Support weekly, monthly, and quarterly service performance presentations.
**Process Ownership**
+ Build partnerships with key service providers; organize routine performance reviews and publish carrier scorecards.
+ Own transportation functional support activities from data collection through implementation.
+ Identify gaps in carrier lane coverage and collaborate with strategic and core carriers to ensure services meet contracted commitments.
+ Support provider selection by gathering business requirements and evaluating cost and service profiles.
**Qualifications**
+ Demonstrated analytical skills with understanding of transportation and logistics processes.
+ Strong communication skills with the ability to work effectively with internal and external partners.
+ Advanced proficiency in **Excel and Microsoft Office** ; data visualization skills preferred.
+ Working knowledge of transportation, distribution, and supply chain concepts.
+ Strong business acumen with the ability to multitask and meet deadlines.
+ Team-oriented, customer-service focused, and proactive in learning new processes.
**Work Experience and Education**
+ Bachelor’s degree in **Business, Operations Management, Supply Chain, or Logistics** preferred (4-year degree required).
+ Experience in a customer-service environment with demonstrated use of Microsoft Office and analytics tools required.
+ Experience in retail, CPG transportation, or working with carriers preferred.
+ Prior multi-site operations experience preferred.
