The Logistics' Project Engineer will provide technical expertise and guidance in development of major logistics' projects, working with internal & external suppliers to support & improve the safety & quality of manufacturing processes while simultaneously reducing variable cost. Further, this position requires a high degree of experience and expertise in various fields, such as: fabrications, manufacturing, paint, assembly, supply chain, project management, etc.
**Specifically in this role you can expect to:**
+ Identify, scope, plan, and execute lean value stream transformation projects to optimize the end-to-end flow across campus.
+ Lead cross functional teams to execute targeted Value Stream transformations.
+ Provide direction and guidance to cross functional team members in a continuous effort to improve logistics' productivity.
+ Work with suppliers (both internal and external) to develop projects, which ensure the most efficient and cost-effective systems or operations to produce quality products.
+ Actively engage with suppliers to analyze their process designs to determine feasibility of using existing designs or modifying the designs to improve process and/or product.
+ Provide leadership in the implementation of integrated technologies within the factory.
+ Adhere to established standards, policies and practices relating to quality, cost reduction, safety, ergonomics, etc., in performing assigned duties.
+ Be responsible for the implementation of major systems and the coordination of those systems with the total plant.

+ Project Management: Knowledge of effective project management strategies and tactics; ability to plan, organize, monitor, and control projects, ensuring efficient utilization of technical and administrative resources to achieve project objectives.
+ Manufacturing Best Practices and Standards: Knowledge of best practices and standards for improving the effectiveness, efficiency, and safety of the design, production, and distribution of manufacturing products; ability to create and implement best practices and standards for various manufacturing processes and activities.
+ Manufacturing Process Design and Development: Knowledge of how to develop or design a manufacturing process; ability to establish and determine which processes and parameters should be opted to improve functionality and costs.
**Top candidates will also bring:**
+ A 4-year bachelor’s degree from an accredited University or experience as a Project Manager in a high velocity manufacturing environment.
+ Prior supervisory experience.
+ Significant experience with Microsoft Office or Office 365 products.
+ At least 3 years’ project management experience.
+ At least 3 years’ experience evaluating processes and technical solutions.
+ Work experience in Assembly, Fabrications, Logistics, Engineering, Supply Chain, or Quality.
+ Significant experience with Lean Manufacturing / Six Sigma.
+ Significant experience developing standard work and time studies.
+ Significant experience with automation (i.e.. AGVs, AMRs, ASRS, etc.)
+ A master’s degree in an engineering, technical, or business discipline.

**Summary Pay Range:**
$110,520.00 - $165,840.00
Compensation and benefits offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, job level, market location, job-related knowledge, skills, individual performance and experience. Please note that salary is only one component of total compensation at Caterpillar.
