Responsible for verifying and maintaining records on incoming and outgoing shipments and prepares items for shipment

Responsibilities:
1. Examine shipment contents and compare with records such as manifests, invoices, or orders to verify accuracy.
2. Record shipment data, such as weight, charges, space availability, damages, or discrepancies for reporting, accounting, or recordkeeping purposes. ... 3. Prepare documents, such as work orders, bills of lading, or shipping orders, to route materials.
4. Confer or correspond with establishment representatives to rectify problems, such as damages, shortages, or nonconformance to specifications.
5. Pack, seal, label, or affix postage to prepare materials for shipping, using hand tools, power tools, or postage meter.
6. Maintain inventory for the production department.

Qualifications:
MUST have Word and Excel skills
Education: High School diploma or GED.
Experience: Must have at least six months of experience in shipping/receiving.
Skills: Basic math skills. Must be a communicator as well as a listener.
MUST be able to work a variety of hours - may need to work 1st and/or 2nd shift depending on work load
