We are looking for a dynamic, organized self-starter to join our Product Support and Logistics Division as a Logistic Planning Analyst.

The Product Support and Logistics Division (PSLD) is one of the most innovative divisions within Caterpillar. In PSLD, as within all of Caterpillar, our priority is our customers and helping them build a better world. PSLD is responsible for Aftermarket Parts Distribution of Cat Parts, Integrated Logistics and the design and manufacture of Wear Components (Undercarriage and GET (Ground Engaging Tools)) and Maintenance Components (Seals, Tubes & Hardware, Hose & Couplings, Fluids and Filters).

Role:

As a Logistics Planning Analyst, you will be the primary contact for several Production Facilities and/or Purchased Finished suppliers. You will be actively engaged with the Product Group, Account Managers, and internal customers to support superior service. These areas focus primarily on assurance of supply to ensure customer and dealer demand is met.

What You Will Do:

Performing work to achieve supply chain performance targets focused on backorders, estimated ship dates, SSP (Supplier Shipping Performance), past due schedules, inventory and turns. Recognizes software systems or components used to manage supply chain. (ie: Microsoft, Excel, MRC (Materials Requirement Collaboration), SAP).Knowledge of processes and methods to effectively manage business relationships and transactions with suppliers of raw materials or product components; ability to apply related knowledge, experience, and skills into real practice.Execute schedule adjustments through collaboration, order min/mults, EOQs (Economic Order Quantity), lost or misdirected shipments, transportation issues, ASN (Advanced Shipping Notifications) issues, E/C (Engineering Change) level or material code changes, backorder escalation, and all other supplier issues impacting performance targetsGrief resolutionProduct Group/Purchasing/Marketing and Dealer inquiriesExecute Monthly Supplier Shipping Performance ProcessParticipate in all projects and meetings to support performance targets improvements and OPACC (Operating Profit After Capital Charges) improvement initiatives

Degree Requirement:

Bachelor’s degree, preferably in Business, Supply Chain or Logistics Management or a related fieldAdvance conversational English

Strong collaborative, interpersonal and communication skills to effectively work with all process partners and customers at all levelsAPICS CPIM (American Production and Inventory Control Society, Certified in Planning, and Inventory Management), CSCP (Certified Supply Chain Professional) National Certification, or 6 Sigma Project experienceStrong mathematical, critical thinking, analytical thinking, and problem-solving skillsKnowledge with parts product structure, global purchasing, and distribution practicesKnowledge of Caterpillar product structure and organization of Caterpillar parts information and technical information databasesAbility to accept increasing responsibility

Location: Santa Maria

This position will require 15% travel
