Logic Design Engineer

Entering this domain positions you at the heart of IBM, where growth and innovation thrive. **Your role and responsibilities** The High-Speed IO design team delivers both proprietary and industry standard interfaces for IBM’s Power systems’ and Z Mainframe’s processors. We work on cutting edge technology and data rates of over 75Gbps. Employees in this role use design documentation, such as Functional Specifications and high high-level design documents to develop IBM hardware and technology products including server systems, storage systems, and networking systems. Additional responsibilities include: * Ensure that the components are unit tested and ready to be integrated into the system product. * Provide fixes to defects identified by the verification team during the development life cycle. * Characterize the hardware post-silicon in the Lab with cross domain collaboration with the firmware and characterization teams. Above all, we are looking for applicants who will thrive in an open, vibrant, flexible, fun-spirited, collaborative environment and desire creative freedom and an opportunity to work on high performing teams! **Required technical and professional expertise** * Work with stakeholders and others in a multidisciplinary team to define functional requirements and develop the solution * Ensure that the components are unit tested and ready to be integrated into the system product. * Provide fixes to defects identified by the verification team during the development life cycle. * Characterize the hardware in Lab * Demonstrated experience in logic design. * Exposure to VHDL or, Verilog hardware languages * Demonstrated communication skills * Digital logic design and simulation experience required * Knowledge of High-speed IO or, Analog Mixed Signal, or Digital Signal Processing * Good communication skills (written and on the phone) * Tools / Languages: Git, VHDL, Verilog, C, Python, Linux OS, BASH scripting **Preferred technical and professional experience** Power-Efficient Logic Design: Experience in designing power-efficient logic, optimizing designs for low power consumption without sacrificing performance. Physical Design and Timing Constraints: Understanding of physical design concepts and timing constraints, facilitating seamless integration with physical implementation and timing closure processes. Python Scripting: Proficiency in Python scripting, enabling automation of design tasks and enhancing productivity in design workflows.
