Lockbox Analyst (Treasury Management Services)

About the Role:

Are you a problem-solver who enjoys working with systems, testing logic, and building custom solutions? Join our Treasury Management Services team as a Lockbox Analyst, where you'll play a critical role in configuring and supporting one of our key receivables products for commercial and small business clients.  The Lockbox product helps our clients streamline their payment processing by collecting and processing mailed-in checks and payment data. As a Lockbox Analyst, you’ll be responsible for designing and implementing custom configurations for each client’s unique needs—ensuring their payments are processed accurately and efficiently.

What You’ll Do:

Configure Custom Lockbox Solutions: Interpret client requirements from questionnaires and file specifications to build tailored lockbox setups within our system.

Client-Facing Collaboration: Participate in client calls to gather requirements, ask clarifying questions, and support testing and training efforts.

System Testing & Troubleshooting: Develop and execute test scripts, validate system behavior, and troubleshoot both hardware and software issues.

Technical Support: Serve as second-level support for escalated issues and collaborate with internal technology teams on system enhancements or network changes.

Documentation & Reporting: Occasionally assist with reporting and maintain documentation using tools like Excel, SharePoint and file compare software.

What We’re Looking For:

We’re seeking a technically minded individual who thrives on solving problems and thinking creatively. You don’t need prior lockbox experience—but familiarity with payment systems like ACH, wires, or integrated receivables would be a plus.

Must-Have Skills:

Strong proficiency in Excel and comfort with tools like SharePoint and file compare software

Ability to understand and apply logical thinking in software configuration

Experience with system testing, validation, and troubleshooting

Strong communication skills for working with clients and internal teams

A collaborative mindset and a knack for thinking outside the box

Required Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience

2+ years of relevant experience in a technical, analytical, or systems-focused role

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience in payment processing, treasury management, or financial systems

Familiarity with test scripts, system validation, or software configuration

Working Model/Office Location:

This is a 100% onsite position requiring five days in office per week

Eligible candidates must live within commuting distance to 1800 Washington Boulevard, Baltimore, MD 21230

Required Availability:

Monday-Friday, 8:30am-5:00pm

Anticipated Travel Requirements:

Employees in this position should be prepared to travel at least once per quarter within the M&T Bank east coast footprint.

Travel may occur more often than this and is based upon the needs of the business and projects assigned.

M&T Bank is committed to fair, competitive, and market-informed pay for our employees. The pay range for this position is $66,979.45 - $111,632.42 Annual (USD). The successful candidate’s particular combination of knowledge, skills, and experience will inform their specific compensation.
