**About the Role**
We are seeking a detail-oriented individual to support the production of high-quality geographic and demographic materials that inform marketing strategies and market analysis within the commercial real estate sector. In this role, you will collaborate with experienced GIS professionals to assist in the analysis of large geospatial datasets and contribute to the development of data-driven insights. Under managerial guidance, you will help implement best practices in spatial data management, including metadata standards, data storage and organization, update strategies, and QA/QC protocols. This position offers exposure to core GIS concepts, tools, and workflows, with opportunities to grow your expertise in spatial data systems and their application in real estate decision-making.
**What You'll Do**
+ Contributes to the creation of map-based deliverables using the ESRI suite, including both static (printready) maps and interactive web maps and applications, with a focus on producing visually compelling and high-quality outputs.
+ Collects, updates, and maintains accurate market data, such as the locations of office buildings, shopping centers, and retailers. Proactively researches new data sources and supports data quality assurance and routine diagnostics.
+ Extracts, formats, and transforms demographic and location-based data from various databases for integration into mapping tools. Identifies and resolves data issues, and helps streamline data extraction processes for efficiency and consistency.
+ Maintains a library of frequently used maps and deliverables for specific geographic regions, ensuring easy access and version control.
+ Engages in ongoing internal training and development to build proficiency in advanced GIS analysis and tools.
+ Collaborates with other GIS professionals to brainstorm and develop solutions that deliver the best outcomes for clients.
+ Supports the maintenance and updating of geospatial databases used in commercial real estate analysis,
+ ensuring data integrity and relevance.
+ Assists in archiving, cataloging, and annotating datasets in accordance with departmental standards to support a shared library of GIS resources.
+ Contributes to defining data field structures and organizing input data, working alongside GIS team members to ensure clarity and consistency in data management.
+ Performs additional tasks as assigned, contributing to the overall success of the GIS team and its deliverables.

Education and/or Experience:
Bachelor’s degree from four-year college or university with a major or minor in Geography or related field; or Associates Degree or equivalent from two-year college or technical school, with training in GIS technology.
At least 2 years of experience working with GIS Technology is required.
Relevant experience integrating enterprise databases with GIS technology is also preferred.
Basic programming knowledge preferred and basic knowledge of working with 3D data is also preferred.

Ability to effectively present information.
Financial Knowledge:
Requires knowledge of financial terms and principles.
Ability to calculate intermediate figures such as percentages
Conducts basic financial analysis.
Reasoning Ability:
Ability to comprehend, analyze and interpret documents.
Ability to solve problems involving several options in situations.
Requires basic to intermediate analytical and quantitative skills.
Other Skills and/or Abilities:
Demonstrate the ability to take on multiple assignments, while maintaining efficiencies and quality.
Proficiency in ArcGIS Suite, word processing, spreadsheet, and presentation applications required.
Ability to interpret data, graphical representations and symbols while having an eye for layout and design, good spatial awareness and colour vision.
Knowledge of GIS terms and definitions required.
Knowledge of CRE preferred and the ability to work with mathematical concepts and apply operations such as fractions, percentages, ratios and proportions to practical situations is preferred.
