Position Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Human Resource Coordinator to join our team at the Malta Street Onboarding Center. This role is critical to ensuring a seamless and compliant onboarding experience for new hires, particularly drivers, in alignment with First Student standards. The coordinator will support candidate screening, interview logistics, document processing, and compliance handoffs, while maintaining accurate records and communication across systems and stakeholders.
Pay for this position will be $19/hour.
Key Responsibilities
Candidate Screening & Interview Coordination
Participate in candidate interviews, including walk-ins, as a secondary interviewer to support handoff and qualification decisions.Schedule and confirm interviews, assessments, and onboarding appointments (e.g., fingerprints, medical, drug testing, CLP prep).Maintain detailed notes in Workday and Trello for each candidate’s progress and status.Onboarding Process Execution
Create and manage Trello cards for each candidate, tracking compliance steps and onboarding milestones.Initiate Workday accounts and paper files for qualified candidates.Collect and verify required documents (e.g., permit/license, SSN, driver abstract).Initiate background checks and offer letters once eligibility is confirmed.Compliance & DOE Documentation
Submit and track all required documentation for DOE compliance.Coordinate with the compliance team to ensure timely handoff from onboarding to training and location management.Monitor Clearinghouse queries and ensure all onboarding steps are completed before revenue service eligibility.Administrative & Operational Support
Answer phones and direct inquiries related to onboarding.Prepare agendas, reports, and correspondence as needed.Support payroll submissions and personnel record updates.Maintain organized digital and physical files in accordance with First Student protocols.Qualifications
Education
High School Diploma or equivalent required.Experience & Skills
