Waste Connections is seeking a reliable and hardworking Local CDL Driver to join our team in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma . The successful candidate will be responsible for the safe and efficient collection and transportation of waste to designated disposal sites. This role requires a strong commitment to safety, customer service, and environmental responsibility. **Pay** : $24.50 per hour **Days** : Monday – Friday with an occasional Saturday **Hours** : Start time 4 am. Working 45-55 hour per week **Key Responsibilities** : + **Waste Collection and Transportation** : + Operate trash trucks to collect garbage, recycling, and yard waste on assigned routes. + Ensure the safe and efficient loading of waste materials using appropriate techniques and equipment. + Transport collected waste to designated disposal facilities. + **Vehicle Operation and Maintenance** : + Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the truck, ensuring it is in good working condition. + Report any mechanical issues or maintenance needs to the fleet maintenance team promptly. + Perform routine cleaning and maintenance of the vehicle to ensure compliance with safety standards. + **Safety and Compliance** : + Adhere to all safety protocols and company policies while operating the vehicle and handling waste materials. + Comply with local, state, and federal regulations related to waste management and transportation. + Use personal protective equipment (PPE) as required and provided. + **Customer Service** : + Interact courteously with customers and the public, addressing any questions or concerns professionally. + Ensure waste collection services meet customer expectations and resolve issues promptly. + **Record Keeping** : + Maintain accurate records of daily routes, waste collected, and any incidents or issues encountered. + Complete and submit required documentation in a timely manner. + Qualifications: **Qualifications** : + Valid commercial driver’s license (CDL) with a clean driving record. + Two years of commercial driving experience _preferred_ . + Strong knowledge of local streets and routes. + Excellent driving skills with a focus on safety. + Ability to perform physically demanding tasks, including lifting and loading heavy items 50 lb +, with the ability to stand, walk, bend, and climb into the truck multiple times a day. + Comfortable working in various weather conditions + Good communication and interpersonal skills. + Steady working history. + Basic mechanical knowledge for vehicle inspections and minor maintenance tasks. **Benefits** : + Competitive salary + Monthly safety bonus + Health, dental, and vision insurance + Retirement plan with company match + Paid time off and holidays + Training and development opportunities + Uniforms provided + Free trash service Waste Connections is an equal opportunity employer.
