Loan Officer Assistant (San Diego)
Job Description We’re seeking a highly organized Loan Officer Assistant (LOA) to guide borrowers through the mortgage process from application to closing. This role does not perform pricing and does not require NMLS. You’ll handle document requests, coordinate third‑party services (e.g., ordering appraisals), maintain the loan file in Encompass, and communicate clearly with borrowers at each step. What you’ll do Document collection & tracking: Request, receive, and verify borrower documents; maintain condition checklists and audit trails in Encompass. Third‑party coordination: Order appraisals and other services; monitor turnaround times and follow up proactively. Borrower communication: Serve as a friendly, reliable point of contact—explain milestones, set expectations, and keep borrowers informed. File readiness: Organize the file for underwriting; ensure accuracy and completeness; escalate issues early to avoid delays. Process navigation: Move loans smoothly through internal steps; schedule and confirm key milestones; keep stakeholders aligned. Compliance awareness: Follow company procedures and applicable guidelines; protect borrower data and maintain clean records. This is an onsite position in San Diego, CA.
