Job Description
SUMMARY:The loader/checker is responsible for using industrial powered equipment and automation equipment to load, unload, move, stack, stage and count products and materials. Operator is accountable for the safe and efficient operation of all equipment and vehicles in and around the facility.DESCRIPTION:
-Package and prepare finished product for shipping (shrink wrapping, palletizing, blocking and corrugating).- Load finished product onto trailers and trucks using powered equipment and manual labor.- Unload materials (empty crates/inbounds) from trailers and place in appropriate area.-Move materials as necessary for shipping and storage.-Perform quality control checks(no damaged goods in or out / accurate orders).-Operate within all Standard Operating Procedures and Job Safety Analysis.-Attend all safety and operational meetings. Operate industrial powered equipment (forklifts, clamp trucks, pallet jacks).-Operate other warehouse equipment (shrink wrap machines). Complete all necessary daily paperwork.-Perform all required pre/post inspection reports for all equipment. Communicate with operators on other shifts and in other departments.-Maintain a clean, neat and orderly work area. Assist in maintaining the security of the warehouse.-Comply with OSHA Standards.-Turn off and lock equipment when not in use. Perform other duties as assigned by management team.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
-Ability to perform the following physical behaviors repetitively throughout a shift: standing, walking, handling, reaching horizontally, reaching above the shoulder, reaching below waist, grasping firmly, pushing buttons, bending, stooping, squatting, crouching, kneeling, pulling and pushing-Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs. on a regular basis-Ability to push/pull a manual pallet hand truck, up to 1,000 pounds-Ability to pull a stack of six cases, weighing up to 216 pounds, a short distance-Ability to work with a variety of chlorinated alkali cleaners and acid sanitizers-Ability to climb an eight foot ladder to attach piping or pull jammed empty milk cases, carrying up to 30 pounds
