What you will be doing
Our Distribution team is looking for critical partners to play key roles in our current Warehouse Management System Upgrade across the network.
The WMS Deployment Team Members are involved in the design, build and configuration of the new WMS as well as help shape the training materials, SOP’s, use case scenarios and participate in functional testing of the new Manhattan Active WMS. Team members also travel to Distribution Centers around the country to provide training and deploy the system with the local teams.
The position will be remote with increasing travel up to 100% in the weeks leading up to DC WMS Go Live. Travel expected to be a minimum of 50% of total worked time.
Main responsibilities:
Collaborate on training documentation, SOP creation, system design
Change management communication and support
Participate in and conduct product testing scenarios
Team training of assigned Distribution Centers from beginning to end of deployment
Class based and 1 on 1 development of local talent skills in the new WMS
On Site support leading up to, during and after WMS Upgrade
We are looking for candidates who possess the following:
Extensive Distribution experience focused on Best Practice
Focus on new technology and looking forward to change
2-4 years in a leadership role
Strong interpersonal and communication skills to deal with all functional areas and all management, up to Vice President level of the organization
Strong facilitation skills in both large and small group formats
Driven, self-starter, detail oriented, collaborative, and team-oriented mindset
Proficiency using a Warehouse Management System, Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint; and the ability to quickly learn and use other software packages
Ability to prioritize and handle multiple projects concurrently
Excellent people skills, ability to deal with conflict constructively
We believe the successful candidate has strength and/or experience in many or all of the following areas:
System Administration Backstage IT experience a plus Working knowledge or involvement in current IT systems (Cosmos, MAWM, EXE, Prospero, SIMS etc.) Technical skill and detail oriented Running detailed reports and interpreting the data accurately System implementation and configuration procedures Some understanding of IE functions as they relate to X-Y coordinates within the WMS Able to pull data and run reports through Databases, SQL and/or QMF
Receiving
Experience with PO receipt process Wide experience working with vendors, carriers, 3rd party unloading Inbound PO scheduling Exposure to or involvement with new item setup Current operational building slotting experience, best practice/SOP awareness
Shipping
Managing orders into and through WMS Organizing manpower prior to shift and flexible change that plan based on circumstances Understands the cross-dock process Outbound loading and transportation methodology/routing Navigate high and low volume days in selection and forklift manpower Current operational building slotting experience, best practice/SOP awareness Automation experience a plus
Inventory
Holistic understanding of an operation from receiving PO's to loading outbound trailers Detail oriented Consistently capable of seeing patterns and abnormalities Ability to communicate to other shifts clearly and concisely Structured and independent Create reports and complete analysis of potential process failures
Other General Descriptions
Extensive travel, 40-60% during design/build/testing phases, 100% during onsite training and go-live Experience facilitating large (10 or more people at a time) meetings Team/People oriented Ability/Flexibility to work different shifts (most DC’s cover 24hrs daily) Must have a driver’s license Experience training individuals and large groups Maintain confidentially Strong communication skills (entry level to SVP) Works independently
