Purpose & Scope: This position is responsible for ensuring that Live haul schedule, biosecurity of movement & equipment processes are followed according to standard operating procedures. Essential Responsibilities: Train all newly hired live haul drivers on farm protocols including animal handling, biosecurity and safe operation of farm vehiclesMonitor & track status of Live Haul equipment repairsEnsure trailer biosecurity is followed day to dayWhen equipment is down, ensure biosecurity of replacement trailer is correct.Manage biosecurity/animal handling supplies for each driver’s cab as well as truck wash supplies Manage inventory of biosecurity gear & request order timelyManage inventory/storage of wood shavings as well as report timely ordersEnsure trailer cleanliness before trailer is bakedEnsure truck wash employees are follow all wash protocolsAbility to operate the trailer baker Monthly housekeeping audit/quarterly rescue trailer audit Monitor daily inspection booksReport any last minute load changes to live haul schedulerOther duties as assigned by Internal Live Haul manager Travel: Daily, within a 60 mile radius Required Qualifications:Valid Commercial Driver’s License is a mustAbility to bend, move, lift and physically perform duties in the scope of this position.Ability to lift more than 50lbs regularlyStrong communication and listening skills Demonstrated ability to solve problems and make decisions independentlyBe a team oriented, self-motivated and positive individual with strong work ethicAbility to efficiently multi-task in a fast-paced environment Familiarity with Bio-Security and swine production Proven safety track and awareness
