Lithium Ion Cell/Module Safety Specialist

The cell and module Safety Specialist is responsible for developing and managing safety requirements for Stellantis hybrid and electric vehicle applications.  This role involves collaboration with global core engineering teams and co-managing safety requirements for lithium-ion battery cells and modules.

Basic Qualifications:

Bachelor's Degree in Chemical, Mechanical, Electrical Engineering, Materials Science, or related degree field. Minimum 8 years of product development and/or process development for automotive Lithium-Ion Batteries. Understanding of energy storage systems and vehicle electrification. Good understanding of cell or module regulatory safety test requirement. Good knowledge of cell and module failure modes. Familiar with EV and HEV propulsion system. Highly motivated and self starter. Good analytical and problem solving skills. Demonstrated ability to work in a global team environment. 

Preferred Qualifications:

Master's Degree in Chemical, Mechanical, Electrical Engineering, Materials Science, or related degree field. Minimum 15 years of product development and/or process development for automotive lithium-ion Batteries. Demonstrated experience in cell or module material, design, performance, safety and manufacturing process. Demonstrated experience working directly with battery supply base. Experience with module or pack level design for thermal propagation protection. Experience with PPAP and SPC process. Working understanding of DFMEA, PFMEA, and DVP&R. Possess excellent leadership and interpersonal skills. Familiar with FEA, CAE, and CFD, and thermal analytical tools. Good communication, problem solving, computer, and presentation skills.
