As a Senior Motion Designer, you are a digital artist. The computer screen is your canvas, and your work can be found everywhere – from smartphones to television, from handheld electronics to the web. You use motion graphics to communicate an idea, concept or story.
You will develop thoughtful, immersive design solutions that lie at the intersection of brand and interaction design and bring a brand’s story to life. You will use your high-end digital skills and expertise with interactive media software (graphic design, video editing, 2D & 3D animation) to design innovative, integrated solutions. You will support the team in creating immersive experiences that fulfill project requirements and client needs.
On an average day, you will:
Design Creatively and Strategically
Direct problem solving and develop preliminary concepts into refined, comprehensive motion graphic storylines
Assist in the design process from start to finish — participate in team ideation, help advance all concepts including logo animation, social and web assets, motion support for video
Develop and write detailed and organized motion design guidelines
Actively contribute to the development of intellectual capital
Check accuracy and quality of all deliverables to the highest standards
Research and Build Ideas
Support design research, participate in strategic research, and contribute to communications audits
Stay up-to-date on trends and new techniques in the design world, as well as best practices in motion design, business management and other relevant disciplines, integrating those findings and understanding into the project
Develop strong and engaging case studies and public reference, including storyboarding, gathering materials, etc.
Manage Time and Projects
Take ownership of specific tasks, set priorities and manage time to meet needs and deadlines across multiple projects and multiple teams
Manage and own multiple projects simultaneously from start to finish, working within budget and time parameters
Document and archive all work and files clearly and in a timely manner for team/studio access
Participate in recruitment efforts
Communicate and Collaborate
Communicate project objectives clearly to team members and clients
Clearly articulate design ideas, share research findings, and explain thought processes to team members — both in writing and in person
Participate in team ideation and design critiques
Work independently or with limited guidance to develop client presentations — including analysis of findings and strategic recommendations
Participate in business development, identify opportunities for business expansion, pull case studies and preliminary audits together, assist in proposal writing, and present ideas

Be Knowledgeable
A design-related bachelor’s degree or equivalent portfolio (postgraduate degree a plus)
3+ years of motion/animation design experience in a professional setting
A proven ability to apply basic design conventions to creative work across a range of experiences (digital, 3D, motion, UI/UX)
The ability to incorporate inputs from strategy, research and other disciplines into design development
The ability to think creatively while building on and relating work to past experience
Be Skilled
Extensive technical abilities with motion and animation software (Adobe After Effects and Cinema 4D or Blender)
Experience with the Adobe Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop, Adobe Premiere)
Strong interest in animating for mobile UI and digital prototypes (Adobe XD, InVision, Principle, Sketch, Figma)
An understanding of various production methods (for distribution and digital implementation) and the ability to identify appropriate process for any job according to budget and scheduling parameters
The ability to work autonomously in the face of complex assignments and seek clarity when necessary
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Strong organizational and file management skills

The applicable base pay for this role ranges from $90,000 - $110,000.
The base pay offered will be determined on factors such as experience, skills, training, location, certifications, and education. Decisions will be determined on a case-by-case basis. In addition to the base salary, this position will be eligible for performance-based incentives.
