This is for a 2-year fixed term contract with the position based hybrid (3 days in office / 2 days from home) at our Melbourne CBD office.
Some key responsibilities include:
Manage and maintain on‑premises virtualization platforms, including RHEV, OpenShift, and KVM-based environments.Ensure performance, availability, security, monitoring, and documentation across all supported Linux and virtualization systems.Provide daily operational support by responding to incidents, troubleshooting issues, and coordinating with vendors for resolution.Automate and streamline infrastructure operations using tools such as Ansible, Python, PowerCLI, Postman, and REST APIs.Contribute to modernisation and reliability efforts through high‑availability solutions, hybrid‑cloud integration, and infrastructure‑as‑code practices.Ideally you will come with a combination of some of the following:
Solid experience with the Red Hat Linux Operating Systems, including Kernel configuration, driver packages, performance tuning, hardening and automation. (OpenShift / Proxmox highly desirable)Experience with Automation Tools (Ansible or Python or similar automation tools).Experience with working on Storage systems (NetAPP or similar)CI/CD experience with technologies like Jenkins, Travis, Octopus.Experience of scripting languages like Python, Perl, YAML and Shell.Familiarity with a wide range of computer and networking hardware, preferably HP, Cisco and Lenovo.Knowledge of network protocols and principles such as TCP/IP, VLANSSolid understanding of hardware integration and testing processes.Strong communication skills with the ability to work within a close-knit team.A Defence security clearance is required for this role, applicants must be Australian citizens and eligible to obtain and maintain an appropriate clearance.
