Job Description:

Parsons is seeking a mid-level Linux Systems Administrator. The candidate will support both Linux based workstations and servers in both physical and virtual environments. The candidate will perform daily systems checks and identify and resolve issues as they arise. The candidate must be able to understand and support standard network designs, configurations, and systems maintenance. Responsibilities also include software and hardware system installations, and troubleshooting of user reported issues. The candidate will be expected to understand industry standard deployments of typical open source and commercial software technologies. The ability to think critically, solve problems, and provide solutions is a must. At times, the candidate will be expected to perform their duties under minimal supervision.

Roles and Responsibilities:

New user on-boarding and workstation imaging and configurationDiagnose and resolve remote user and system infrastructure issuesInfrastructure monitoring and optimizationPlan and coordinate system outages and upgradesNetwork monitoring and maintenanceInstall server and network equipment in a datacenter environmentDocument infrastructure architecture changesResolve user requests and issues reported to the HelpDeskOn rare occasions, support after hours system upgrades

Required Skills:

Must be a US CitizenCandidate must have a current TS/SCI clearance with PolyBachelor’s degree in a technology related discipline or equivalent experience may be accepted in place of a degree3+ years experience with Linux operating systems, including installations, maintenance, and troubleshootingExperience in maintaining virtual environments and deploying Linux servicesUnderstanding of basic networking technologies (TCP/IP, UDP, Firewall)

Desired Skills:

Familiar with virtualization and Docker technologiesExperience with automation technologies (Salt, Ansible, Puppet)Experience with Atlassian software (Confluence, JIRA)Experience with a wide variety of open source software and utilitiesExperience managing FreeIPA or LDAP based systemsBackground in Network Security, Intrusion Detection, and server monitoringFamiliar with server and networking equipment rack installations

Security Clearance Requirement:

An active Top Secret SCI w/Polygraph security clearance is required for this position.​

Salary Range: $144,800.00 - $260,600.00
