**Req ID:** RQ202834 **Type of Requisition:** Regular **Clearance Level Must Be Able to Obtain:** None **Public Trust/Other Required:** None **Job Family:** Systems Administration **Skills:** Active Directory (AD),Apache HTTP Server,Linux,Linux Command,Ubuntu Linux Server **Experience:** 3 + years of related experience **Job Description:** Primary Responsibilities: ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- Daily security related administration of approximately 200 Linux servers Work with other Systems Administrators on a daily basis in team setting Work with clients on security issues for Linux servers Using vulnerability reports for patching of systems Manage daily work through ticketing system Patching and hardening of Linux servers Linux Email administration Linux backup maintenance Linux DNS administration Secondary Responsibilities: ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- Networking administration within the Linux infrastructure Planning and implementation of Linux server rebuilds High Performance Computing systems administration Linux certificate maintenance Ansible system automation Required Qualifications: ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- BA/BS (or equivalent experience), 3+ years of experience Advanced Level Linux command line interface/CLI experience Intermediate Level Shell Scripting (Bash, KSH, ZSH, FISH, etc.) Intermediate Level Webserver configuration experience (Apache/NGINX) Intermediate Level Linux Networking experience (tcpdump, ss, ip, nmap, nmcli, etc.) Intermediate Level Linux Firewall experience (iptables, firewalld, or nftables) Intermediate Level Linux Virtualization experience (KVM/QEMU, OpenVZ, etc.) Intermediate Level Linux Documentation experience Intermediate Level Linux Database experience (MySQL, MariaDB, PostgreSQL, Influx, etc.) Preferred Qualifications/Experience: ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- Security+ certification, equivalent, or ability to attain within 6 months Nessus (or similar SW) Vulnerability Scanning Dovecot IMAP Postfix SMTP HAProxy/Nginx load balancing Ansible automation Windows Server/Client 2008+ Experience MacOS Client Maintenance Server/Computer Hardware Maintenance Windows/Linux Software Maintenance Python Perl Ruby Lua Tcl PHP More Details ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- Independently provides advance level technical interpretation and solutions in the management of networks, software, hardware, configurations, and architectures. Troubleshoots system hardware and software specific issues that are moderate to high complexity in scope. Trains end users on the proper use of hardware and software. Performs advance software installations and upgrades to operating systems and layered software packages. Monitors and tunes the system to achieve optimum performance levels. Ensures workstation/server data integrity by implementing standard software and hardware solutions. Independently ensures data/media recoverability by following a schedule of system backups and database archive operations. Conducts advance hardware and software audits of workstations and servers to ensure compliance with established standards, policies, and configuration guidelines. Ensures that performance and security of computers meet the needs of network users. Applies practical knowledge of job area typically obtained through advanced education and work experience. May provide guidance to less-experienced personnel. Evaluates existing systems and assists with planning long-term strategies. May coach and review the work of less-experienced professionals. The likely salary range for this position is $83,429 - $96,600. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
