Job Description A client of Insight Global is seeking a skilled Linux Migration Engineer to support a high-impact initiative: migrating approximately 400 applications from CentOS to Rail on Linux. This is a 6-month contract role with the potential for future opportunities on other NRG-funded projects, as the team is rapidly expanding. Youll play a key role in ensuring a smooth transition of applications, working closely with engineering and network teams, and using tools like Jenkins, Salt, and Terraform to manage deployments and configurations. Key Responsibilities - Migrate applications from CentOS to Rail-based Linux systems across ~400 servers. - Use Jenkins pipelines to deploy applications from legacy servers to new environments. - Coordinate with the network team to manage IP cloning and server transitions. - Validate application functionality post-migration in collaboration with engineering teams. - Ensure Apache is properly configured and applications are running as expected. - Monitor migration progress and communicate updates via Slack. - Leverage Salt (primarily) and Terraform for infrastructure automation. - Operate independently after initial training and ramp-up.
