Linen Control and Distribution Manager - Laundry

Founded in 1906, McLeod Health is a locally owned and managed, not for profit organization supported by the strength of more than 900 members on its medical staff and more than 2,900 licensed nurses. McLeod Health is also composed of approximately 15,000 team members and more than 90 physician practices throughout its 18-county service area. With seven hospitals, McLeod Health operates three Health and Fitness Centers, a Sports Medicine and Outpatient Rehabilitation Center, Hospice and Home Health Services. The system currently has 988 licensed beds, including Hospice and Behavioral Health. The hospitals within McLeod Health include: McLeod Regional Medical Center, McLeod Health Dillon, McLeod Health Loris, McLeod Health Seacoast, McLeod Health Cheraw, McLeod Health Clarendon and McLeod Behavioral Health.  

The Linen Control and Distribution Manager is responsible for overseeing the inventory, tracking, distribution, and overall management of linen supplies within the facility. This role ensures that clean linen is delivered efficiently to designated areas, so operational departments can function effectively. The manager plays a key role in maintaining par levels, minimizing loss, and ensuring quality and cleanliness standards are met.

 

Key Responsibilities:

Monitor daily linen inventory levels and usage across departments to ensure adequate supply and timely distribution.

Coordinate the collection of soiled linens and the delivery of clean linens according to established schedules.

Maintain accurate records of linen usage, deliveries, and returns.

Work closely with laundry operations to manage turnaround times and quality standards.

Conduct regular inventory audits and adjust stock levels to maintain par levels and prevent shortages or overstocking.

Investigate linen losses or discrepancies and implement corrective actions as needed.

Ensure compliance with health, safety, and infection control standards in all aspects of linen handling.

Train and supervise support staff involved in linen handling and distribution.

Communicate with department heads to assess linen needs and address service issues.

Assist in budgeting and forecasting linen needs based on usage trends.

 

Working Conditions:

Fast-paced environment with repetitive tasks

Standing and walking for most of the shift

Work takes place in linen storage rooms, laundry areas, and throughout the facility.

Shift work may include weekends and holidays as required

 

Education:

Bachelor's degree in business management, Hospitality, or a related field required. In lieu of degree a minimum of 6 years’ laundry services experience will be accepted.

 

 

Qualifications/Training:

Strong organizational and time-management skills.

Proficiency in inventory management systems and basic computer applications (e.g., Excel, inventory software).

Attention to detail and commitment to cleanliness and quality standards.

Ability to lift and move bags or carts of linen as required.

Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
